CMB Emergency Priority Switcher

The CMB Priority Switcher is a rack mountable

override device.  It has 8 regular audio / video

inputs for items such as satellite or DVD and 5 emergency inputs at mic or line level.

Under normal circumstances, all regular audio and video is passed through the device in a loop-through fashion i.e. untouched from source.  However, upon detecting an emergency signal (audio from 1 of 5 inputs), the device shuts all loop-through channels

down and overrides them instead with audio and

video from the emergency channel.

All 5 emergency channels are also in hierarchal form meaning that priority can be placed on certain

inputs (e.g. Captain's mic) over others

(e.g. Customer Service Officer mic).

  • 8 Loop through channels for satellite or DVD.

  • 5 Emergency channels for microphones or line-level signals such as safety announcements.

  • Hierarchal priority on 5 emergency inputs.

  • Volume control on front of rack case for satellite or DVD adjustment.

  • Mic or line-level select on rear with mic gain potentiometer.

  • VOX (voice operated) override possible or hardwired PTT for mic inputs.

  • Integral AV amplifiers take emergency inputs and distribute to all 8 outputs.
